The Saratoga Foundation awards three or four grants annually, using primarily income from its invested endowment. The typical grant is $5,000 to $15,000.

The Foundation awards grants to charitable and educational organizations that have a 501 (c)(3) status with the Internal Revenue Service. Eligible organizations must be located in Saratoga County, NY. Funding is not available for general organizational operating expenses. The list of projects on this website provides examples of the type of endeavors funded by the Foundation.

Many awards are made based on the insights of members of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, who are aware of many emerging needs and community innovations. All organizations that receive funding must be able to demonstrate how the requested funds would be used to benefit a broad spectrum of people in the Saratoga community.

There is no formal application process. Interested organizations should contact a member of the Board of Trustees to explore possible project funding, or send a query via email to a link on the contact page.

The Foundation cannot fund all of the many worthwhile projects that are ongoing in the Saratoga community. The Foundation relies on ongoing contributions to maintain and expand its grants program.
